Me & Bee classes are limited to 8 artist and a parent or assistant must be present. Me & Bee classes will be offered on Friday evening and Saturday Mornings starting August 2017.

We have 24 slots available for PNO. Children must be between 5 and 12 years old and must be potty trained.

This class is a very open-ended, process-oriented class.  Class is for toddlers between the age of 1-3. We set up approximately three or four different creation stations (“invitations to create”) at tables with small chairs (where you can sit next to your Little Bee and create). We also have a large art wall where Bee’s are encourage to create and socialize while creating and easel time! Activities will vary from week to week. We take care of the spills and creativity that are left behind. No more worries about staining the carpet!

From time to time we will add a music or reading element to our creative time.

We have two teachers available and will give you the buzz on projects/materials when you arrive so you can move right into creativity and exploration.  We’ll be buzzing around to make sure everyone is buzzing with fun, interacting/playing during Me & Bee time. Just buzz us for assistance, we will be near. No need to hurry, your artist will be ready to get going as soon as they arrive at the Bee Hive.

Everything we use in our toddler class is non-toxic, and it is very common for sensory oriented children to learn by touching and tasting.  The paints are colorful and look tasty, but sometimes they just need to try it to find out, that it really is not!  A taste of paint or nibbling on an oil pastel shouldn’t harm them, but definitely keep an eye on them to watch what they put in their mouth, particularly with regard to choking hazards.

Here at Bee’s we encourage artistic independence in all our Bee’s/ students. While your child is at the studio, we encourage you to use the time to run errands or do a little shopping and then return to get your child when class is ending.

Please note Little Picasso class requires a parent or guardian to partake in the class with the smaller artist.

Most of our art supplies (paints) are washable, however sometimes we will use items such as permanent markers and glue that won’t allow for stains to come out. We always provide aprons for all our participants. And although most of our art supplies are washable, we know that sometimes art stains may be a little hard to remove. Crocs, rubber shoes/boots or old shoes are practical and fun studio attire. So see, we really don’t know if it will come out and therefore we encourage parents to deem a set of older clothes as the “The Bee Hive Palette Fit” and allow your Bee to wear it to art class.

Art is amazingly fun and it can also be amazingly messy fun! We encourage parents to find one older outfit and deem it “The Bee Hive Palette Fit” for when your child(ren) comes to create. Worrying about keeping clothes and shoes clean are the last thing we want our Bees to worry about when they are creating. We always provide aprons for all our participants. And although all of our art supplies are washable, we know that sometimes art stains may be a little hard to remove. We have smocks for all our participants; however we cannot guarantee that our artist won’t have a great spill or two. There are times when projects may need to stay the week to dry or we may continue a project the following week. At Bee’s we want you to take all your Bee’s projects home as soon as they are ready for the car ride home! So your Bee and your family can enjoy and discuss just how creative they are during car time, family time, well anytime!
